Privacy policy

Casalita is our family's home in Búzios, Brazil. This page explains what this website collects when you visit it, and what we do with it. The short version: we measure how the site is used, we never sell anything about you, and we only use your details to answer you.

What we measure

We use Google Analytics to see which pages people read and how often someone presses a booking button. It sets small files called cookies in your browser. We switch on the setting that shortens your IP address, so we never see it in full. Google Analytics only starts after the page has loaded.

You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on. The site works the same without them.

The inquiry form

The form on our Contact page does not send anything to us or store anything on this website. When you press send, it opens WhatsApp with your message already written, and you choose whether to send it. If you message us on WhatsApp, by email or by phone, we use your name and details only to answer you and plan your stay.

Booking

You book Casalita on Airbnb or Vrbo. Your payment and booking details stay with them, under their own privacy policies. This website never sees them.

Maps and video

The Contact page shows a Google Map, and the film on the home page plays from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode, only when you press play. Google may set its own cookies when these load.

Your rights

We do not sell or share your information. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, under Brazil's data protection law (LGPD) and the law where you live. Write to vacationbuzios@gmail.com and we will answer within a few days.
